Two wire, not three (i.e. not earthed). I understand this is the norm in EU and other parts of the world, so assume this is not a problem. The product was delivered without the mains cable described on the webpage as being part of the package. I contacted the supplier who, to their credit, shipped a power cable with plug attached (to connect adapter to mains socket) straight away - it arrived the following day. With this in place, adapter seems to work fine.
