The battery is a good fit for my Black and Decker hedge trimmer and works well. It was partially charged when it arrived so I could try it straight away. I recharged it using a DeWalt charger, that does both NiCd and NiMH batteries, and found the battery got very hot and took longer than my old NiCd battery. I know batteries get hot when charging but it felt hotter than I expected. The charger I have has a built in temperature alert so should stop charging while the battery cools down if there is a concern. NiMH batteries do have benefits over NiCd ones so I'll just keep an eye on it when it is on charge.
